Interlecs are international, interdisciplinary symposia usually held every two years around the world. They provide opportunities for scientists to present and discuss their work in an informal and stimulating atmosphere. Interlec-23 will focus on the role of carbohydrate-binding proteins (galectins, collectins, ficolins, selectins, pentraxins, etc) and their ligands in human health and disease.

BioPorto will be presenting Mannan Binding Lectin (MBL) – a key test in the assessment of immune deficiencies.

MBL is an important element in the innate immune defense. MBL deficiency is associated with increased susceptibility to infection and with more than 12% of the average population being MBL deficient, MBL testing is a key parameter in the diagnosis of immune deficiencies.
